Itinerary details :
Day 1: Marrakech – Aït Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Rose Valley – Dadés Gorges
We start from Marrakech at 8:00, in order to drive to Ouarzazate, a former caravan town on the silk and salt route in the eastern foothills of the Atlas Mountains. Ouarzazate is known as the Gateway to the Sahara passing through the berber town of Taddert and over the 2260 meters high Tizi-in-Tichka pass. We will stop at the famous Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, 30 kilometers from Ouarzazate. The kasbah is one of the most intriguing red earth castles lining the ancient road of the Kasbahs, and is a UNESCO world heritage site. Lunch by the Kasbah and continue on our way to Dades Gorge via Ouarzazate. “the Hollywood of Africa”. On, through the “Road of the thousand Kasbahs”- the fascinating “sand castles”.we will continue in our journey to stop at Kalaat Mgouna, “the rose’s city” known for roses and its annual festival during the roses harvest in May, and then continue to our hotel in the heart of the Dades gorge, enjoy a traditional Moroccan evening meal and breakfast.
Day 2: Boumalne Dadès – Tinghir – Todra Gorge – Arfoud – Merzouga Dunes
The next day after breakfast, our trip will lead us through the Dadés Valley and Todra Gorge, to explore the sites of this region. We will have our lunch at a café on our way. Merzouga will he final destination of the trip from where camels will take us from the Erg Chebbi sand dunes to Berber desert camp. We will spend the night in traditional Berber tents at the desert camp which includes our evening meal & morning breakfast as well.
Day 3: Merzouga – Daraa valley – Nkob – Ouarzazate
We will return back from the desert camp to our hotel in Merzouga to take a shower and breakfast. We will then depart towards Draa Valley, passing through Rissani, Alnif, Tazarine, and Nkob, where we will spend the night in one of the historical Kasbahs in Tamnougalt. 6 kms before Agdz, in the way to Ouarzazate, this Kasbah is situated in a wonderful place around the date palm groves- a romantic place for most of the tourists. Then, we will have a walk around to explore other old Kasbahs in the region.
Day 4: Ouarzazate – Ighrem N’Ougdal – Marrakech
On the way from Ouarzazate to Marrakech, we will explore one of the Kasbahs in Ouarzazate called “Kasbah Taourirt”. From there, we will move to Marrakech and arrive there in the evening.
