Marrakech → High Atlas → Aït Ben Haddou → Ouarzazate → Dades Valley
The first day climbs from the Haouz plain into the High Atlas, crosses the Tizi n’Tichka road and descends into Morocco’s pre-Saharan architecture. A focused visit to Aït Ben Haddou is followed by the kasbah and oasis landscapes east of Ouarzazate, ending with dinner and an overnight stay in the Dades area.
Marrakech pickup and departure check
Meet at the confirmed accessible hotel entrance, riad meeting point, residence or station. The driver checks the party name, luggage count, child-seat request and final Day 3 return point. Vehicle-free Medina lanes require a nearby meeting point agreed before departure.
High Atlas ascent
Leave Marrakech and climb through changing mountain terrain. One practical coffee, restroom or panoramic pause is normally made where parking is safe. Fog, winter snow, road works or heavy traffic can change the selected viewpoint and timing.
Tizi n’Tichka high-pass area
Pause near the high section of the road, conditions permitting. The purpose is a short landscape and photography stop rather than a long hike. The driver will not stop on an unsafe bend or where weather makes the shoulder unsuitable.
Aït Ben Haddou walk
Allow roughly 60–90 minutes to approach the UNESCO-listed ksar, walk through the main lanes and reach a suitable viewpoint. The route is adjusted to temperature and mobility. A licensed local guide and any paid interior entry are separate unless listed in the final quote.
Lunch near Aït Ben Haddou or Ouarzazate
Stop at a practical restaurant selected around the day’s pace, parking and dietary needs. Lunch and drinks are paid directly by the client. A slow lunch reduces the time available for later scenic stops and can delay the Dades arrival.
Ouarzazate, Skoura and the Road of Kasbahs
Continue through the Ouarzazate region toward Skoura, Kelaat M’Gouna and Boumalne Dades. Short panoramic stops may be made, but film-studio visits and long guided kasbah tours must be requested in advance because they materially change the schedule.
Dades check-in and dinner
Check into the named riad or hotel, receive the confirmed room and agree the next morning’s departure time. Dinner is included according to the property’s service schedule; additional drinks are normally paid locally.
